August 2013 edit

Hello, I'm Gyrofrog. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Khatumo State, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Most of your addition (link) was either unsourced, or cited Wikipedia. Furthermore we don't need to duplicate the text in Dervish State and you removed the portion which already explained its context. Gyrofrog (talk) 14:50, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Khatumo State. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Gyrofrog (talk) 16:39, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • In addition: Some of the text you're adding too closely paraphrases the somaliareport.com webpage (see WP:PARAPHRASE). Furthermore, as that source indicates that some of the information is "in their own words," this is really too close to the Khatumo administration's view to be neutral (see WP:NPOV). The crisisgroup.org source only mentions Khatumo in the context of a territorial dispute (which had already been covered in this article). And once again, there's no need to copy-paste verbatim text from Dervish State into this article. -- Gyrofrog (talk)

Sorry, but I don't buy that. It's already clearly indicated in the wikitext that Somaliland is a secessionist region of Somalia. You also replaced neutral links with blogs and Somaliland advocacy links, and removed all categories and demographic information on the region. This is not consistent with what a true Khatumo resident would do. Kindly do not blank the page again. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 14:04, 1 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Also, do not threaten other users as you did on my talk page. Yours is a newly registered account, but you're not behaving like a newbie; more like an old (and possibly banned) user with an axe to grind. It's funny how you wrote on Tgeairn's talk page to "make sure MR. Middayexpress stops editting the Khatumo State page" and that I "often edi[t] Wikipedia from Puntland, Galmudug, Maakhir, Somaliland and ofcourse Khatumo". In reality, I haven't edited the Maakhir page since April [1]. That's several months before you even registered this account. FYI, as Federal Member States of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Khatumo State, Puntland (which Maakhir was officially incorporated into in January 2009), Somaliland and Galmudug are all within the Project's scope. But something tells me you already know that too. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 14:45, 1 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is the internet! There is no need to threaten, because I would never be able to fulfill any threat :).

Regarding Somaliland links, I use them as reference that there has been a conflict and to show to any reader that this wikipedia page is objective, I also use pro Khatumo websites.

Anyhow, if you are so Pro Khatumo, why do you not refer Khatumo State in below sentence?

"Control of the Sool, Sanaag and Cayn (SSC) regions is disputed between the autonomous Puntland and Somaliland regions of Somalia, as well as local unionist authorities."

Do you have difficulty with recognizing that Khatumo State is player in the SSC region?

Anyhow, what do you suggest.

A threat is a threat; it's not for me to guess whether or not you're serious. Don't make them in the first place (see WP:NPA). You also used advocacy sources tied to Somaliland, which is hardly neutral given that secessionist region's relationship with the Khatumo authorities. If I recall, the only link from a Khatumo source was actually a reprint from another website. The text was also phrased in an unencylopedic fashion. Instead of attacking me (which in itself is telling), you as a supposed Khatumite (which I doubt) should be happy I fixed all that. By the way, I never revealed my gender anywhere on this website, so concluding that I'm a "Mr" is also duly noted. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 17:28, 1 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Middayexpress

I have never threatened you! Anyhow what do you suggest?

Are you prepared to change unionist authorities to Khaatumo State, can we agree on that as a start?

Khaatumo. Holland

Ok. I've adjusted unionist authorities to Khatumo State (formerly HBM-SSC or Hoggaanka Badbaadada iyo Mideynta SSC). Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 18:02, 1 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Middayexpress

I will leave the below sentence just for you.

"Control of the Sool, Sanaag and Cayn (SSC) regions is disputed between Khatumo State (formerly HBM-SSC or Hoggaanka Badbaadada iyo Mideynta SSC) and the autonomous Puntland and Somaliland regions of Somalia.[4]"

However I will add details to Khatumo State wikipedia because it is not complete. If you disagree you can talk with me instead of changing this page on a continues basis. Thanks.

Khaatumo.holland

We'll first have to reach consensus here, as above. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 18:18, 1 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
