End of the Road

We can't reprint lyrics to copyrighted songs in their entirety; it's a copyright violaton. --FuriousFreddy 20:47, 25 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

No, a lyric reprint does not neccesarilt violate on the copyright of the recording itself. It is, however, a complete rendering of the lyrical content of the song, and infringes not upon the copyright of the recording ,but that of the publishing company and songwriters. Standard Wikipedia policy is not to include more than about four lines of any song in any article. As such, I remove full lyric reprints upon sight and will continue to do so. An external link to the lyrics can be added to a page if the editor desires that lyrics be made available, they are not to be posted in articles. You're not being singled out, and I am not the only one enforcing it. See Wikipedia:Copyright problems; articles can be deleted for including full lyric reprints. Copyright infirngment was not "in question", it was present, and therefore immediately removed. Users are not required to be notified of deletions of copyrighted information from articles. I apoligize if it took you a long time to format those lyrics that away, but those lyrics cannot be included in an article here.
If you could write some prose giving a general overview what the song's lyrics are about, and mention who is singing which part of the song (e.g. "Nathan Morris and Wanya Morris sing the first verse", etc.) that would be a much better solution.
