They get wierd about articles on Major General West...

...I think mine was the last attempt. At least this time it was a redirect.

Why not put the info you were going to use and what works from this: User:Deathbunny/Major General West into Tau'ri characters in Stargate SG-1. Deathbunny 23:11, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blanking

edit

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. delldot | talk 02:41, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

No big deal, sorry for the warning then. Let me know if you need any help or want to discuss anything. Peace, delldot | talk 02:46, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think she was trying to revert the page back to the redirect and then try to put the article into an appropriate page... I mean, since the powers that be don't like the article in he first place as a stand alone...

UD4L Cheyenne

edit

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article UD4L Cheyenne, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Your User Page

edit

Wikipedia's user pages are pages made available to its users for anything that is compatible with the Wikipedia project and agreeable to the community. It is not a blog, webspace provider, or social networking site.

Generally, you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal website. Your user page is about you as a Wikipedian, and pages in your user space should be used as part of your efforts to contribute to the project.

Policy related to user page content can be found at WP:USER and includes the following rules on excessive unrelated content:

Prohibited user-related content includes promotional and advocacy material and links such as

  • Advertising or promotion of an individual, business, organization, group, or viewpoint unrelated to Wikipedia (such as commercial sites or referral links).
  • Extensive self-promotional material, especially when not directly relevant to Wikipedia.

The information on your userpage specifically advertising your commercial interests and attributes was in contravention of this policy and has been removed (see the History tab at the top of the user page).

Many free and low-cost web hosting, email, and weblog services are widely available, and are a proper place for content unrelated to Wikipedia. For wiki-style community collaboration, you can download the MediaWiki software and install it on your own server if you want full control or use one of many online wiki farms.
