Welcome!

Hello, Katiefisher, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 11:35, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dear Kathie please stop deleting references to the Russian investigation on Browder's criminal financial schemes. This shall be considered as vandalism as you delete information backed by reliable Russian sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.64.242.186 (talk) 11:58, 15 February 2013 (UTC) Hello. Bill Browder biog page

edit

Someone/a small group appear to be vandalizing the Bill Browder Wikipedia page. Much of the original crowd sourced material has been removed and replaced with anti-Browder from 1 or 2 writers with text which is directly from Russian state media. The pliant Russian media is not reliable in this case.

The original text has been substituted with material which is effectively propaganda which has been promulgated by the state Russian media. It is not independent.

Browder has received complaints that people / journalists from around the world are unable to make additions to the Bill Browder page when they have very simple, factual additions to make (all of them sourced). Clearly Browder cannot address this issue personally and we would seek assistance in keeping the page factual and accurate as well as fair and balanced in accordance with the rules for this wiki.

If you are after a balanced or neutral view of what has been reported, then it is very necessary to point out that the Russian state has, though its state media, begun to put out articles which independent Russian media and Western media have decided are insufficiently reliable to pick up, because the original Russian sources are seen to be just plain unreliable. And as such they should not be used as reliable sources on Wikipedia. The independent media, who’s reports sourced to other independent reliable sources such statutes and parliamentary reports and independent reports were on the Bill Browder page before it was vandalized, and subsequently locked, should be reinstated in order to offer a fair summary of the case.

At the moment the text on Bill Browder’s page only reports from Russian side of the Browder story and not the other. This is neither neutral nor balanced.

There is a new chapter pending approval about a libel case in London by Pavel Karpov against Browder, and only text supporting Karpov’s view has been submitted. It covers only Karpovs’s explanation of the case and not Browder’s.

It would appear that “Hell in Bucket” and 217.64.242.186 along with one or two others who seem determined to only put on a Russian, pro-Karpov view of the story and on the Karpov case in London and is therefore not independent. One has to question whether Karpov (or those retained by him) are vandalizing the page of his opponent in litigation?

We would also ask for Wiki to look at the involvement of “Hell in Bucket” and 217.64.242.186 to ascertain whether they are sufficiently independent to contribute to this page. It appears to us that they are not sufficiently independent.

Here you go, this is the page you need to raise this concern [[1]] I will state right now as I have before I have zero connection to that person or Russian government but by all means please we can discuss it there, please also explain why you think that I have any connection to the article subject.
