Hi Kathylockton - you have used the helpme template, but didn't post a question. Did you have something you wanted to ask? If so, post below and replace the template and I or someone else will be back shortly. Alternatively, you can chat to us live here or here. ∙ AJChamtalk 16:20, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) While using the {{helpme}} template, please state what you want help with. If you have any problems, ping me on my talk page. Pmlineditor  Talk 16:32, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have created a subpage and don't know how to launch it. Also, many links in the text are not activated. I don't know how to activate them. Thanks.

Where is this subpage? Pmlineditor  Talk 16:32, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I created it yesterday and access it through "my contributions". I was following wikipedia suggestion to create a subpage before launching.

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Kathylockton! I am Pmlinediter and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

David Lockton edit

I would advice that the subpage you created (User:Kathylockton/David Ballard Lockton) should be named David Lockton and not David Ballard Lockton or David B. Lockton. There are 174,000 results on a Google search for David Lockton, 807 results for David Ballard Lockton, and 14,000 results for David B Lockton. David B Lockton and David Ballard Lockton can then be turned into redirects. Also, I will sort your references for you on the subpage, and can create the redirects & launch it if you are having trouble with that. Best regards, Alan16 (talk) 17:24, 8 September 2009 (UTC).Reply

Hi Alan, I agree with your name suggestion to go with "David Lockton." Thank you for offering to sort the references, create the redirects and launch it. :-) Kathy.

No problem. I'm just going through it linking things like place names and some of the technical stuff like multicast. Also, if you use four tildes (~~~~) after your comments, your name will appear automatically and then sinebot will stop following you around. Regards, Alan16 (talk) 17:46, 8 September 2009 (UTC).Reply
Done – Moved user subpage to David Lockton, as well as multiple linking & ref sorting. Alan16 (talk) 18:22, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

thank you so much. by the way our son, Rick (Richard) Lockton is a University of St. Andrews alumni (2000)Kathylockton (talk) 18:45, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why does the "David Lockton" page say "This is an article by Kathy Lockton"? When somebody searches wikipedia on other people you don't see that kind of reference. Also there are other links in the article that are not activated. If I list them for you can you help with that too? Thank you again. Kathylockton (talk) 19:08, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I don't see the "This is an article by Kathy Lockton" apart from in the history of the article where you are listed as the creator because you started the subpage. And yes, I'll activate the links if you post a list. Also, your son would have to have some notability himself to be included as an alumni of St Andrews uni, although you could add something to the David Lockton article in the biography section. Regards, Alan16 (talk) 15:46, 9 September 2009 (UTC).Reply

Two David Lockton articles edit

You can delete the subpage if you want. It has just automatically gone to a redirect because of the page move. Alan16 (talk) 19:16, 9 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have in fact just added a speedy delete tag on the subpage for deletion due to Part 6 of the Speedy Delete Criteria. Should be deleted quickly enough. Alan16 (talk) 19:20, 9 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:David Lockton 1970.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:David Lockton 1970.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ZooFari 18:32, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
