Fair use rationale for Image:Cbazaar saree1.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Cbazaar saree1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NickContact/Contribs 08:46, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stop adding copyvio pictures

edit

We can't use any pictures in Wikipedia that aren't completely copyright-free. You keep uploading what are clearly pictures done by professional photographers with murky claims for their copyright status. Please STOP. I reverted the sari article again and I will keep doing so unless you can start adding pictures that aren't copyvios. It would be better to add them to the gallery, if good, rather than replace the pictures already there. Zora 09:53, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The four images you uploaded have been deleted per Criteria for Speedy Deletion: G12 as obvious copyright infringement with no assertion of permission. Please do not upload any additional copyrighted images. For images to be included on Wikipedia, they must be free of copyright restriction or there must be a valid claim of fair use to use copyrighted images. If you have any questions about images on Wikipedia you may ask them at Media copyright questions or feel free to contact me. --NickContact/Contribs 06:59, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your message...

...however the problem has already been resolved. The resolution was the deletion of the images. Please do not re-upload them as you can see from the website's copyright policy that they are not free licensed images, nor do they qualify for fair use. If you have any image questions, feel free to contact me. I will do my best to assist you and if I cannot, I will pass your message along to someone who can. --NickContact/Contribs 00:26, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
