If "electronic" and "pipe" deserve to be separate categories of organs, and I think they do, digital organs which mirror the pipe organ's complex production of sound deserve to be a third category. The digital revolution now extends to the precise production of the audible sound of the finest pipe organs. Traditional pipe organ companies and their guilds naturally tend to protect their own vested manufacturing interests. What is now overdue? An honest assessment of just how far the the digital revolution has come in the authentic emulation of pipe organ performance.
A close scrutiny of www.johannus.com and www.pipeorgans.com will identify the omission as well as will exclusively conventional lists by country and manufacturer of organ builders. (You may explore various lists of organ builders at sites such as [[1]] or the International Society of Organ Builders (ISO) [[2]].
