Bottle Irrigation

edit

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Bottle Irrigation, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. ArglebargleIV 17:03, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bottle Irrigation article

edit

Hello, Can you guide me on making my article Bottle Irrigation acceptable for Wikipedia.

Kaiserbutt 17:51, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! I noticed this comment on another user's talk page and I thought I'd take the opportunity to respond. There are a couple policies you might need to read that can help answer your question on its acceptability. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not the place to publish original research. Wikipedia also requires articles to be capable of citing reliable and verifiable sources. The information you provided on Bottle Irrigation and Grow trees appears to be your own original research. We have nothing against your work, and to be honest I haven't searched hard within reliable sources, but it doesn't appear that there are other sources (magazines, newspapers, academic articles) that talk about these subjects. So unfortunately, it appears as if Wikipedia cannot accept these articles. The articles also lacked an appropriate tone for an encyclopedia, rather resembling an essay instead. I hope this helps. I've nominated those two articles for deletion and discussion will occur at the link provided above. Other Wikipedia editors will weigh in on what they think of your articles and eventually a consensus will be formed where we'll decide if the articles are appropriate or not. Cheers, --Rkitko (talk) 04:35, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
One more thing: The pages you posted here are exact copies of the ones on your website. This could represent a copyright violation. It appears very likely that you are the one that owns that website, but there's no way for us to know that unless you verify it in the ways described at WP:COPYVIO. This is, of course, a moot point since the articles violate other policies as well. But for future knowledge, any information published on the web, unless it specifically states otherwise, is copyrighted and cannot be posted elsewhere. You own the copyright to the text on your webpage. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, --Rkitko (talk) 04:51, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bottle Irrigation

edit

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Bottle Irrigation. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you.   Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added to the page Bottle Irrigation do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. You appear to be getting a fair few messages about your articles and I don't want to add to your woes - but just a couple of pointers. Please do not post links to your own websites as this could be considered to be spamming or self-promotion; and secondly while it is necessary to sign talk pages, article pages don't need a signature because the edit history shows who has contributed what to each article and articles may be edited by more than one person over a period of time.
