Central Asia edit

Being in Kazakhstan, you have the opportunity to do something most of us can't - take pictures! Would you consider providing pictures of these Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Kazakhstan? There is also this category Category:Kazakhstan stubs which is a grouping of short articles on Kazakhstan that need more information. Also, if you cut and paste this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Central_Asia#Kazakhstan to your browser, it will take you to a list of missing topics on Kaz. that are not covered in Wikipedia at all. If you're new to Wiki, let me know and I'd be glad to help you navigate. Welcome! Aelfthrytha 15:33, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Happy to help out edit

I have a couple of pictures I can share right now, just let me know how I do that. As for editing articles, I have done that before and will happily jump right in.

This chatting in Wikkipedia thing, I could use a basic intro on. Or am I doing it right?

When you chat in Wikipedia, the first thing to know is to sign your comments with four tildes ~~~~ so that people can see who wrote them. Second, if you want to reply to someone, you should click on their user name. Leave the comments on their "discussion" page so that they will see them faster.Aelfthrytha 04:44, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Kazakhsteppes.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Kazakhsteppes.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:05, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Hoax? edit

I have my first request for you specifically related to Kazakh folklore/culture. Could you look at this article: Eson xorgol and tell me if it is a hoax or not? Aelfthrytha 04:45, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Eson Xorgul edit

I can't find anyone who has heard of it. Khorgul is a Kazakh/Uighur name. Eson doesn't appear to be a Kazakh word. It's harder to falsify than prove, but I don't see any supporting evidence. When I googled it, I also found only links back to that Wikkipedia article, or word-for-word transcriptions.

Suggestions edit

Please take note - to let people know who is talking, you must sign your comments with this ~~~~ at the end. When you hit "save page" it will change to your username with the date and time. Aelfthrytha 16:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
