What are you intending to do with this page when it's finished? Remember that Wikipedia is not an instruction manual, so the "first take a look around your home" tone of the writing here would be inappropriate for an article.

You might want to consider working on the existing home security article, which addresses the same issues in a more encyclopaedic manner. --McGeddon (talk) 14:49, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

It looks great, but it doesn't read like something that would be suitable as a Wikipedia article, as Wikipedia specifically avoid being a "how to" manual. Have you considered writing it up at WikiHow, or a similar site? --McGeddon (talk) 19:17, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
