Speedy deletion nomination of KKE Architects, Inc.

edit

A tag has been placed on KKE Architects, Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I'll help you! What's the matter?Airplaneman talk 16:20, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oh yea, and I don't think your name is acceptable. Please change it. Airplaneman talk 16:21, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bump. Hope you're reading this, and please look at the links in the welcome template above. Please change your name! Airplaneman talk 17:59, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I made all of the requested edits, so my article is ready to post. There really isn't much left from my original posting. Can the warning at the top be removed now?

Yes, it's your talk page. You can do whatever you want with it, although I suggest you archive it. If you want, I can do it for you or help you do it. Are you a KKE employee or something? If an administrator hears, he might block you for having an inappropriate username(I'm not an administrator, just a rollbacker). Sorry to have to say it, but it doesn't seem to meet these criteria. I think yours lands under the "promotional" category. Here's how to change it. I won't report you or anything, but please change your name. Well, that's about it. Feel free to ask away if you have any more questions or concerns. Regards, Airplaneman talk 05:03, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope that I don't seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: NO REASON GIVEN. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your views, for instance, your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

There are several options available to you:

  • We can talk about it, here.
  • You can abandon the contributions made under this name and create a new account that meets our username policy and addresses the concern(s) noted above.
  • Or, if you want to keep your contributions history under a new name, then you should visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the instructions there.

If we can't resolve this on our own, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process. Thanks. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 13:13, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Because your account was used for promotion of a company, group, product or organization with a username that promotes or implies affiliation with the aforementioned. This includes, but is not limited to: adding spam links, creating promotional pages (this includes user pages), adding advertisements to existing articles, and adding promotional/favorable content about something you are affiliated with.

Use of Wikipedia for promotion of people, products, companies or other groups (even non-commercial or charitable ones) is considered Spam and is forbidden. Such actions will result in the blocking of the account involved. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for our policies about this.

In addition, user accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing. Your username should reflect this. Usernames that appear to be promotional (such as those that make reference to a company or product) violate our username policy and are typically blocked to enforce that policy.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Tell us what new username you want to use. Please make sure that your new username does not violate our username policy and check that it has not already been taken (click here to search).
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If instead you believe that you have been blocked by mistake (i.e., you have not in fact been using Wikipedia for promotional purposes), please write {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box and replace the text "Your reason here" with the reason why. See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information. – B.hotep •talk• 13:15, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Note although you were asked two weeks ago to change your username, you chose to carry on editing the article with which you have a conflict of interest. Please note that even if you do change your username, you will not be permitted to carry on editing that article. – B.hotep •talk• 13:26, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I would like the privilege to edit on Wikipedia. This was my first experience with adding an article, and it appears I unintentionally did nothing right.

Although I was upfront with having “KKEmarketing” as my username, repeated suggestions to change my name seemed ignored. I thought the name change suggestions meant to remove the “Inc” portion of my article’s name. Then I thought the problem was the name of the individual sections in my article and capitalizing beyond the first word in each phrase. When I later realized my username was the problem, I tried to change it but was blocked before completing that process. I remembered the second suggestion was to create a new username. I wasn’t trying to hide anything; I thought I was doing what was suggested. I was not trying sockpuppetry; I was trying to complete my first article to your satisfaction.

While I am an independent contractor working for KKE, you would consider that a KKE employee. I now understand that I need to declare my conflict on my talk page. I would immediately do so if unblocked.

When looking for information on the East Lake Community Library, a mention of KKE Architects was in red. I thought I was strengthening Wikipedia by adding information on KKE. I was contributing in a factual manner on a subject I was familiar with through my career.

Since I finally understand the reasons for my block, I would like the block removed and the chance to prove that I can be a useful contributor. I will declare my conflict of interest. I would like Stacy Maureen as my new username.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I'm also thankful for the people who were trying to help me.

Decline reason:

There's nothing wrong with "Stacy Maureen" as a username, though I would appreciate you confirming that this account is used by one person only, since that is required. While I'm underwhelmed with your success at reading and understanding these warnings, I understand that you're new to Wikipedia and I know it can seem daunting to a new user. There remains one major issue: it's not just the need to declare your conflict of interest, it's also necessary that you be particularly cautious about contributing under the conflict. I counsel users in your position to abide by WP:BESTCOI; in particular, I don't want to see you contributing new material to the KKE article, making its tone more favorable, or removing any negative information that might at some point appear. For that kind of edit, you should make your suggestion on the talk page and leave the actual edit up to others. If you can agree to that, I feel it would be okay to unblock you. Mangojuicetalk 04:40, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Note for reviewing admin – see also User talk:Stacy Maureen. – B.hoteptalk• 21:05, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock|I am still hopeful that my unblock request will be accepted. I am a Marketing Coordinator at KKE Architects. I will not contribute to the KKE Architects article or related articles. From carefully reading all of the WP:BESTCOI information, I understand that I was in no position to directly post the article on KKE Architects. I should have suggested the article idea on WikiProject and disclosed my conflict of interest. In moving forward, I will follow the WP:BESTCOI. I will use the appropriate talk pages to make suggestions to articles within my conflict of interest. I wish to change my username to “Stacy Maureen” to follow the appropriate naming conventions. It will only be used by me; I have been the only contributor under the “KKEmarketing” username.}}[[User:KKEmarketing|KKEmarketing]] ([[User talk:KKEmarketing#top|talk]])

Please go to the User:Stacy Maureen account. I will unblock that one. – B.hoteptalk• 22:46, 25 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
