not Conflict of interest editing

edit

I did not issue any press releases. I do scientific research. I believe it is appropriate to cite research sources on this wiki. Does citing research sources violate some wikimedia rule? I don't believe it is a conflict to provide accurate source material.

Where is the talk page that I need to access to make sure accuracy is maintained here? Not a wiki author and don't care to be but will not accept inaccurate referencing of my work. If you care to, please fix.

Conflict of interest editing

edit

Would you happen to be the same Jameson who issued this press release: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2014/09/prweb12191374.htm ?

If so, I would suggest you more carefully follow our conflict of interest guidelines, such that you are not breaking the rules regarding referencing. Assuming good faith in your intentions, I would recommend you request changes on the talk page if you do not feel you have the time to read these rules.

That press release was not issued by Jameson. Not rules are being broken, only error correction. Errors in the Wiki must be correct to protect the university as they are incorrect and will be formally pursued if the errors are maintained.

If you are Prof. Jameson then you will have to follow Wikipedia's terms of use, declare a conflict of interest for Antico's page here, and make a formal request to correct the error rather than attempting to do so yourself in a manner not consistent with Wikipedia's RS protocols. If you are not Prof. Jameson, it is odd that you selected a username that represents the name of someone who has worked directly with Antico...
I am assuming good faith here and letting the behavior breach slide; if you would like I can help you in ensuring you are following Wikipedia's rules more closely.
Additionally, I see you have been adding external links to Wikipedia that all directly reflect Prof. Jameson's work, for example, here: http://www.tenthousandthings.info/#!members , is evidence that Jameson is directly related to the first link you added from this account in your edit history. Please be more careful in not adding information about yourself to Wikipedia in this manner, as this is not a relevant external link for the page you added it to.
