Speedy deletion nomination of My Hall Monitor

Hello Jwinkler79,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged My Hall Monitor for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

Confusion

I think you are confused 8-( You're confusing Wikipedia with Facebook, Twitter etc. The difference is that there you can post almost what you want (legal restrictions applying to certain types of content, of course). You can advertise there, and no-one pesters you about notability and referencing. Now, Wikipedia is not like that. It is an encyclopaedia, not social media or a directory. Advertising and promotion are strictly weeded out, and, whatever your intentions were, your article read like pure advertising. See WP:SPAM. "Other types of businesses are on here explaining about their products and services that are offered as a technology resource" - no. There are articles ABOUT other businesses, and they should all conform to WP:CORP for companies, WP:WEB for web content, or [[WP:GNG] for general notability. Some don't comply, because the patrollers haven't caught up to them yet. They will... Whatever the notability policy, WP:RS also applies - reliable independent sources. Not YouTube, Facebook etc, wikis, forums, own sites, profiles, press releases, weebly and wordpress pages, mere mentions in lists or articles about other things ('BloggsCo make FredWare which does a similar job to CrapEliminate XR') and so on. And then again, we have a policy WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS anyway. We strongly discourage people from editing about their own businesses - see WP:COI about conflict of interest. (The conflict comes in because all editors are assumed to be here to help build the encyclopaedia. Anyone promoting their own business is in conflict with that assumption.) Getting the picture? No I am not confusing Wiki with Facebook. I simply said you have facebook and other service son Wiki explaining what they do. So my question is why is this page allowed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UserVoice#cite_ref-stackoverflow_5-1 but my page wasnt? If my page cant be on here then you should delete all the other ones like this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UserVoice#cite_ref-stackoverflow_5-1 that are showing the same information that i was showing. Please advise.

Please sign talk page posts with ~~~~ to put your sig and the date stamp on. I did refer you to OTHERSTUFFEXISTS - the existence of one article does not mean that another should. That one doesn't look to be BY the company (but the editor that created it is blocked for abusing multiple accounts). I've tagged it for 'peacock words' as it's not promotional enough for deletion. It looks to have plenty of references, and some work was done on it by DGG (another admin, who often tags things for deletion if they fail our policies). BTW just put the title inside two pairs of [ ] brackets if you're linking to a Wikipedia page. Like this: [[UserVoice]] which will come up as UserVoice when it's saved.
