Stella Akin edit

Hi Jwalke31,

I just wanted to explain the problem with the article you created. Although you have reworded it, it is still a close paraphrase" of the original article from GeorgiaInfo. Because the original content on GeorgiaInfo is copyrighted (there is a copyright notice on the page) Wikipedia can't republish it, even if it's paraphrased.

I think you can definitely write an article about Stella Akin, and have it on Wikipedia, because she sounds very notable and you have obviously found sources for the article. But you need to try writing a version of the article that isn't so closely based on your source. Try reading the information on GeorgiaInfo (and the other sources) and then write down her story without looking at the sources. Then you'll have a copyright-safe version of the article. You can of course refer to the sources afterwards to correct any inaccuracies in what you remembered.

Cheers,

While not a word-for-word copy, the article remains largely a close paraphrase and needs verifiable permission from the copyright holder or rewritten in your own words. VernoWhitney (talk) 12:20, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
