Licenses Randstad Map edit

Hello Junuxx,

Ik praat hier in het Engels, omdat het de Engelstalige Wikipedia is.

You changed the map I've made; that is allright, but:

  • You can't change a dual GFDL/CC-BY-SA license into any other license, including Public Domain. You may choose GFDL or CC-BY-SA or just keep the dual-license. I changed it to the right licenses.

Keep that in mind for a next time. Cheers, Jeroenvrp 13:13, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

i've removed a painting you included; its the most expensive objects by cost of creation, not purchase price. Ironholds (talk) 00:07, 10 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Randstad edit

Hoi Junuxx,

Junuxx (talk) 12:29, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hoi, You're completely right. Sorry if I came across as insensitive to the fact that it takes quite some time and effort to create a map with a significantly lower population limit. I'll consider if I can find some time to try something myself. If I do so, I'll get in touch with you. Met vriendelijke groet,

Disambiguation link notification for April 30 edit

Hi. When you recently edited Popski's Private Army, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page St. Mark's Square (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File:Countries and regions by population density.png at Wikimedia Common edit

Hi Junuxx

I wanted to extend my appreciation for this map. I am curious about the data sources that was used. I am in need of using population density myself. Have you listed your data sources that I can reuse?

Thanks! JediMasterPhooki (talk) 10:36, 27 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Phooki! Thanks for your kind words, I'm glad to hear someone likes my efforts from way back when. I used whatever was on the Wikipedia article for each country's top level subdivisions at the time, e.g. Provinces of South Africa or Regions of Italy. I made sure those articles were properly sourced but didn't compile a list for the map itself.
The map has a lot of shortcomings though. Foremost the ugly basemap, but also having to draw in all the subdivision borders and colors by hand. If I did it again I would find a way to automate it as much as possible.
Junuxx (talk) 07:30, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Junuxx, appreciate the quick reply! That helps a lot- I'm engaging in the exercise to compile the population data, and your direction helps. Thanks Junuxx. The basemap is just fine, it depicts the density clearly, but as you said it looks painstakingly done. I'll check if I can get some .tifs
