Darkbot

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Darkbot, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://freezedown.org. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 05:52, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Darkbot, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://freezedown.org/, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Darkbot and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Darkbot with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Darkbot.

It is also important that the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and that it follows Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at Talk:Darkbot/Temp. Leave a note at Talk:Darkbot saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:12, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

As an additional personal note to the above, I've read your assertion at the article's talk page that you own the copyright and release. These steps are necessary to confirm that, since we do not require confirmation of identity on log-in. The article has been blanked pending resolution of this issue, but as soon as the permission can be confirmed by a note on the website or a letter of release to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org, it can be restored. Thanks, and please let me know if you have any questions about following through on this. I am monitoring the article's talk page pending resolution of this matter. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:14, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi. :) Almost. As the above says, you have to state that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain (one or the other). This step is essential, because this means that you are aware that Wikipedia's readers can do whatever they like with this material--use it or change it, even sell it for their own profit--as long as they give credit to you. (They don't give you credit for their changes, only for the text you've authored.) If you're comfortable with that, all you need to do is revise the text allowing re-use under one of those two licenses and we can restore the article. Please let me know when you've done so. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:03, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's cleared. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:15, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
