Orphaned non-free media (File:Studyplaces.png) edit

  Thanks for uploading File:Studyplaces.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" Manual_of_Style_(biographies)]] link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 03:04, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

June 2011 edit

  Hello Jpendergast. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Studyplaces, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. - 220.101 talk\Contribs 09:18, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Jpendergast,
I dropped the above COI template here more as a matter of procedure than anything. Saves me typing too.
  • I have concerns as you are being paid to create and edit the Studyplaces page. Remember that you and Studyplaces.com do not own or control the contents of the page. It may now be edited by any Wikipedia(WP) editor who wishes to do so within WP policy, without being "authorized by the organization".
  • Without commenting on the notablity of the website, or whether this page may be seen as too much of an advert (it reads as quite neutral to me), you have done a good job for your first article. Good layout, complete references (using CITE style too!) using categories etc. Far better than most first articles that I have seen.
    See Special:NewPages to see what some think is encyclopaedic. Regards, 220.101 talk\Contribs 09:50, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:JumboTests logo.png edit

August 2011 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, a number of your recent file uploads, such as File:JumboTests homepage.png, had missing or false information regarding their source and copyright status. Please note that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Images and other media must only be uploaded if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our image use policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 18:02, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
