License tagging for Image:BAR group.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BAR group.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:01, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

  1.   Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Third Chadian Civil War do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Veinor (talk to me) 17:48, 23 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
  2.   Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to National Redemption Front. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Veinor (talk to me) 17:53, 23 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
  3.   Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to African Union Mission in Sudan. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Veinor (talk to me) 17:57, 23 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
  4.   This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Darfur Peace and Accountability Act, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia at all. Veinor (talk to me) 18:13, 23 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
