Octal conversion algorithm
editHi Jondkir, I just stumbled upon an older Teahouse entry of your's [1] and thought I would let you know that I think your proposed contribution of a description of a conversion algorithm would fit in nicely into the Octal#Conversion between bases article, where several algorithms are described already.
While it is true that stuff can be challenged and references may be needed in the long run, Rome was not built in a day. Perhaps someone else will come up with a good reference (or the original name of the algorithm) once it is properly documented already. It's all about teamwork.
So, feel free to add your information into that article. Just try to use some language which is more encyclopedic/descriptive than how-to- or text-book-style. Best, --Matthiaspaul (talk) 01:30, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
