==Welcome== Hello Johno000 and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. Try to be civil by following simple guidelines and signing your talk comments with ~~~~ but never forget that one of our central tenets is to ignore all rules.

If you want to learn more, Wikipedia:Tutorial is the place to go, but eventually the following links might also come in handy:

Float around until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. Additionally, the Community Portal offers a more structured way to become acquainted with the many great committees and groups that focus on specific tasks. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English as well as the cleanup, welcoming, and counter-vandalism committees. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy. If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 17:15, 16 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Penrhos

edit

Removing the prod was probably a mistake I made. The reason for prod was "Not notable". I read the first few paragraphs and it seemed to have some notability, enough to go to AfD at least. I didn't notice the joke stuff about the Knights, and have contacted the authors to try and get a response. It was my mistake, but next time could you use a better description in the prod. Something like "joke article, not notable" would have been useful. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.--Commander Keane 13:48, 19 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Cocktails

edit

Hello. As a professional bartender (at least according to the userbox you added) you might be interested in the WikiProject Cocktails. It is a group of people at Wikipedia working together to improve the quality of information related to mixed drinks. Having more people participate who really know the topic from a professional point of view would be terrific. Please consider becoming an active Participant. Also, if you are interested, a name change is being considered for the WikiProject from Cocktails to Mixed Drinks, and you can add your opinions to the discussion and vote. I hope to see you around. --Willscrlt (Talk|Cntrb) 04:30, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Theprestigecover.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Theprestigecover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
