Speedy deletion of Bochica edit

A tag has been placed on Bochica, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I've restored it. The deletion appeared unreasonable. Michael Hardy (talk) 17:46, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome, and a favor edit

I noticed you've been working on Pushforward (homology), and it looks like it's coming along well. Both Michael Hardy and I are associated with the mathematics wikiproject, and if you run into issues or want to find other mathematically inclined editors I hope you'll look there. We have a list of resources that may help with writing math articles.

I'm sorry to see that the article you started on Bochica was temporarily deleted. Because of the large amounts of vandalism (I'm sure you can imagine), we get a lot of joke articles, and it's easy to make mistakes. One way you can avoid that in the future is to add at least one external reference to any new article you create (example).

As a relatively new user, can I ask you to do a favor for the project? Would you mind taking a look at the messages you get when you create a new page, and letting me know how they could be improved to make the need for a reference more clear? It's hard for established users to know how the messages look to new users, but of course new users are the people who need the messages the most.

If you have any problems or questions, please feel free to contact me at User talk:CBM. — Carl (CBM · talk) 19:14, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hiya edit

Hi Joen235. I hope you don't mind if I draw your attention to this guideline. Thanks, Trafford09 (talk) 13:51, 16 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Trickle-down economics edit

Hi Joen235, I see that you are a professional economist. I wonder if you could help with Trickle-down economics. There has been a fairly long-running dispute as to whether anyone has actually argued for trickle-down economics, i.e. giving money to the rich through tax cuts, as opposed to hoping that the rich will invest more if they are taxed less. Most RS on the page say that it is a theory, but they are all from sources critical of trickle-down economics. In contrast, a few sources say that no economist or politician has ever proposed this theory, but there are not very many of these. I wonder if you knew of any more sources that would help either way, i.e. either a source arguing that giving the rich more money through tax cuts would help poorer people, or one saying that no one had proposed it. Thanks! Absolutelypuremilk (talk) 19:28, 8 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
