Speedy deletion nomination of Pixlr Editor

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pixlr Editor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Karl 334 TALK to ME 16:07, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of Pixlr Editor

edit

This article was deleted because it did not show why the software is notable. It exists, as the link shows, but there are no reliable sources that discuss why it is important. Indeed, there were no sources at all. Parts of the article were couched in the form of an analysis or opinion on the software, saying that it "is fairly intuitive to use" and that "Both newcomers and experienced users might find good reason to add this to their set of tools." This makes the article sound promotional, which isn't appropriate either. Comparing the article to other articles on wikipedia is a non-starter; you may wish to review WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS for the rationale at work here. So, step one would be to find reliable sources. I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but perhaps it will be of help in showing how best to proceed. Please do me know if I can be of any assistance. No problem. Sandboxing is easy - just create a user page of the form User:Jmdeschamps/Pixlr Draft and edit away. You can even use that title; I've linked it for you, just click the redlink and begin editing. You can leave me a message when you're ready for an outside opinion, or just post {{helpme}} on this page. Good luck, UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 21:31, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
