AfD nomination of Worldofbags edit

I've nominated Worldofbags, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Worldofbags satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Worldofbags and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Worldofbags during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Esrever 02:42, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

You have recently recreated or reposted material at Worldofabgs which previously was deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies. Please do not recreate this article without prior approval from an administrator or you may be blocked from editing. We ask that you respect what Wikipedia is not. If you disagree with the article's deletion, you may seek an independent deletion review. I am sorry you are unhappy with the deletion of this article. But unless you can point to multiple independent reliable sources that confirm that the topic is sufficiently important for inclusion, the article is not acceptable. Wikipedia is not a place for promotional material. WjBscribe 02:08, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
The onus is not on me to join discussions that are over. The onus is on you to establish to my satisfaction or that of another administrator that there is something important enough about the subject of that article for it to be worth discussing. WjBscribe 02:10, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
You need to get the ball onto the court before there is a need for discussion. Articles that do not assert the importance of their subject are deleted on sight. If you can explain to me why this online trader of bags is important enough for an article, I'll undelete it and create a fresh deletion discussion. But so far nothing you have said to me or Alison (or in the article) says that this trader is any more important than any other. We don't keep articles on very commercial undertaking that exists. on notability edit

Thanks for your comment on my page. If you create on article on WP, it is up to you to assert why the subject is notable, i.e., why the subject is worthy of attracting notice. Quoting from the notability guidelines:

A topic is generally notable if it has been the subject of coverage that is independent of the subject, reliable, and attributable. The depth of coverage and quality of sources must be considered in determining the number of sources required and whether the coverage establishes notability.

While Google is not the be-all, end-all of secondary sources, it's a helpful starting point when looking. It's up to you to provide those sources when making the assertion of notability in the article. I hope that helps you in the future when editing WP. Cheers! Esrever 02:34, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
