Source Analysis

I've had a look at the sources you provided, and I'll post my thoughts below.

1.) http://www.vidyya.com/vol4/v4i154_2.htm

This feels like a press release. I'm not familiar enough with Vidyya to judge how reliable a source they are, though - we don't seem to have an article about them, for example. The source also does not offer much about Dr. Devreotes himself - just the chemical. Good as far as it goes, perhaps, but would work better for an article on that substance.

2.) http://www.pnas.org/content/106/5/1297.full

Similarly, this article is more about the Phosphorylation process, rather than Dr. Devreotes himself. Interestingly, though, we do find a citation at the bottom of the article - Iijima M, Huang YE, Luo HR, Vazquez F, Devreotes PN (2004) Novel mechanism of PTEN regulation by its phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate binding motif is critical for chemotaxis. J Biol Chem 279:16606–16613. That might prove to be a worthwhile source about the process, if and when.

3.) http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/health/cutting-protein-tail-of-tumour-suppressor-can-help-fight-cancer_100136861.html

Again, this source discusses the possible applications of a particular procedure. Though it quotes Dr. Devreotes, it does not talk directly about him or his credentials (apart from identifying that he works at John's Hopkins).

4.) http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/12/081231005413.htm

This article goes into more detail about the study discussed in Source 3, above, but it's still not about Dr. Devreotes. He is quoted, but it's the same quote they used in the source from Source 3.

5.) http://www.drugdiscoveryonline.com/doc.mvc/Color-coded-technique-will-speed-identificati-0001

This is an older article that discusses a different process developed by Dr. Devreotes, but again it focuses on that process and not the good doctor.

6.) http://www.pnas.org/content/107/46/19613.full

This is better, but the focus is still on the science. This source would confirm Dr. Devreotes' election to the National Academy of Sciences in 2005, but that's about all.

There's not enough here for an article on Dr. Devreotes himself. Certainly a mention in any article about one of these processes would be justified, and these sources would confirm that involvement - but the only biographical fact we can confirm from these sources about Dr. Devreotes is that he is a Doctor, has worked at Johns Hopkins, and was elected to the NAS. That's not enough for an article. If we had a source that highlighted Dr. Devreotes himself - a profile or write-up following an award, for example - that would be a much better starting place. Perhaps a bio exists for when he was elected to the NAS? You might also look at WP:PROF - the election to NAS would seem to meet criteria #3, but we still need sources that talk about Dr. Devreotes himself. If you were to post an article that read "Dr. Peter Devreotes was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2005", it wouldn't last long. May 2012 Sources

I've had a look at the additional sources you provided. There's not a lot of third party, independent stuff there - most of it is announcements and press releases and the like, some from Johns Hopkins (the subject's employer). But it does point to some prominence in the field, which would speak to the subject's Notability. Independent sources would be much better, but the volume of sources here is an excellent start.
