There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:45, 27 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand the reason for the block, and regret that as a first-time user I made errors in account creation and first contribution. These errors were due to a misunderstanding of Wikipedia guidelines. My future contributions and edits will not repeat these errors. My intention is to contribute details and articles about the Florida region that will clarify, update older information, and enrich stubs.

Accept reason:

Per below. Please also review WP:COI and WP:PAID. Huon (talk) 20:43, 3 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • Renamed from 'FLSUNCOAST' to 'JiminStPete'. Another admin will review the unblock request. Just Chilling (talk) 18:36, 1 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm concerned by this: "Wiki articles and edits we contribute relating to Florida tourism and industry are written by our freelance editorial team." There are two problems with this: Firstly, Wikipedia does not allow shared or "organization" accounts. I'm willing to assume that the username change indicates that only a single person has access to this account, so that's resolved. The second issue is copyright. Please explain who owns the copyright for the content "written by your freelance editorial team", how we can be sure that it has been released under a license compatible with Wikipedia's Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 license, and how you intend to satisfy the attribution requirements of that license when you're not the copyright holder. I understand your concerns and once unblocked will edit my user page to reflect the fact that any articles or edits going forward will be written by me alone. Now that I understand the Wiki guidelines better I am abandoning the original approach and will work solo to contribute details and articles about the Florida region. Thank you for your consideration.
