RFC discussion of your username (Jimbobbowilly)

edit

Hello, Jimbobbowilly, and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! Wikipedia has a policy on what usernames editors can use. Unfortunately, concerns have been raised that your username may be incompatible with that policy. You can contribute to the discussion about it here. Alternatively, if you agree that your username may be problematic and are willing to change it, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name. Simply request a new name here following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. -- WjBscribe 06:01, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi. There was a discussion, as mentioned above, at WP:RFCN (click here to see it). You may not be aware of this, but Jimbo Wales is the name of the founder of Wikipedia and "Willy on Wheels" was the name of an infamous vandal. Usernames that contain both "Jimbo" and "Willy" are sometimes viewed suspiciously, even though there is no intention on your part to refer to either. You may wish to create a new username in order to avoid any such confusion down the line. But if you prefer to keep the username you have, you are welcome to do so. Please take a look at the welcome message below and if I can be of any help, please feel free to ask. --BigDT 02:27, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
