Hey Jim

I really hope that you keep improving the Policy Debate-related articles. However, a problem with that article when I last edited it (which I believe was quite a while ago—I apologize for the tone which probably characterized my edits) was that most of it was original research because it did not cite sources. The idea that you cannot run inherency with a disadvantage is an opinion, not a fact. If you would like to add it to the article, you have to attribute it to the author who says it. There are several ways you can do this. The archives of the Rostrum are online, many people right about debate arguments as well as culture in there. You could flip through one of the several books on debate which are listed in the references section of the Policy debate article, or you could find another published source.

Also, when writing about policy debate, keep in mind that norms and "rules" vary geographically. I see from your user page that you are from South Dakota, so I intuit that you cannot read inherency with a disadvantage there. When you write about debate issues, try not to universalize one perspective rather than write from a universal point of view.

Also, if you'd really like to know how to run inherency with a disad, its quite simple. Here are several ways off the top of my head: 1) The inherency argument need not claim that the plan has been done, merely that the affirmative harm has been solved, it's more than possible that the disadvantage links to the plan but not to whatever solved the affirmative harm 2) The disadvantage could be time sensitive. Doing the plan now might link to a politics disad but when it was done 3 years ago that scenario obviously didn't exist 3) Even if inherency does contradict the disad, the affirmative has to beat the inherency argument to win the round, so they cannot simply concede it to take out this disad.

Hello! First, let me ask, please, that you put new messages at the very bottom of my talk page; it's easier to keep track that way.

As for your question, it's best in this case to redirect the page rather than delete it. Remove all the content from Stock Issue and replace it with #REDIRECT [[Stock issues]].
