Speedy deletion of The Big Picture (production company)

edit

A tag has been placed on The Big Picture (production company), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. George Lang (cinematographer)

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of George Lang (cinematographer), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://bssc.sel.sony.com/BroadcastandBusiness/minisites/cinealta/reel/glang_bio.shtml. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. • Comment - Hey Jgowdey first thank you for your contributions. However, sorry to say, I tagged your article on George Lang (cinematographer) with a copy right violation. In writing the piece large portions of it were cut and pasted from this web site [1]. I’ll give you a day or two to correct. However, if it is not correct by tomorrow, I will have to tag for speedy deletion under copy right violations. Need any help, just let me know. Shoessss |  Chat  15:11, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

George Lang article

Hi there, thanks for not immediately flagging the article for deletion. Any advice you'd offer on improving/reorganizing it? I know the re-edit process must be pretty straightforward, but I'm rather new to Wikipedia; any tips you have would be appreciated. jgowdey

Hello Jgowdey! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 876 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Proposed deletion of The Big Picture (company)

edit

The article The Big Picture (company) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NCORP; very thinly sourced.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
