Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. TEDickey (talk) 10:32, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Tom (North Shoreman) (talk) 14:40, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 14:49, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please stop attacking other editors. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Tom (North Shoreman) (talk) 14:55, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm not attacking other editors. And I'm not personally attacking you either. I'm attacking your edits. JessicaFairbanks82 (talk) 15:07, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Really? Examples:
"neoconfederates shielding the type of man jefferson davis really was"
"this is nazism and racist."
"stop shielding and protecting a man who wanted to fight for slavery, neoconfederate" Tom (North Shoreman) (talk) 15:13, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes, all these post deal with racism. I was attacking the comments. Not "personal" attacks.

Your recent edits remove a sentence which deals with, and only with, the relationship between Davis and Black Hawk. Can you please explain why you feel this sentence (which is cited) should not be present? It seems innocuous and neutral, as well as descriptive. Omnedon (talk) 22:16, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

October 2012 edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for edit warring, as you did at Jefferson Davis. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

  • I've increased the block to two weeks for also socking and block evasion.
