The Brakes

At the AfD nomination, you wrote I'm not quite sure why this is being subjected for deletion. I put this up here to try to get more people to know one of my favorite bands,.

The reason that the article is "up here" is because of doubts that the band is important enough to have its own article in Wikipedia: see WP:N and WP:MUSIC. That's what it's so important to have good external links (to newspaper interviews, for example) - to show that it's not just one fan that cares enough to create an article.

Second, since it sounds like you want to have the article kept, may I suggest that you specifically vote a "Keep" at the AfD?

Third, I removed from the AfD the note about what the BRITISH band is doing. The AfD discussion is about the AMERICAN band which has a similar name. Adding info on the British band absolutely confuses the discussion, which is about whether the American band is notable enough to be worth an article here.

Fourth, I'm glad that you don't have a conflict of interest (being a fan is fine).

Fifth, if you have a link/URL for "there has been some international controversy over the group's name", would you mind posting that in the article or at my talk page?
