Your question edit

Hi, Jasey! I just wanted to let you know that I've moved your question from the Humanities reference desk to the Science desk, as I think you're much more likely to get helpful responses there. You can see the question at its new location here. Thanks, and a belated welcome to you! Evanh2008 (talk|contribs) 07:23, 19 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

ref desk political argument edit

Hi, you have posted a good faith section at the ref desks, but we don't get into debating political arguments and commenting whether your reasoning or the policies are right or wrong, se the guidlelines against opinion or debate at the top of the page. Don't feel dissuaded from asking factual questions related to the topic, either separately or below the closed comment. μηδείς (talk) 17:58, 19 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

The problem is you are asking us to give our personal opinions and comments on the soundness of your reasoning. We don't do that, it's called WP:OR. What you could ask, is "is there an article about visa policy that addresses covert racism" or ask about authors or studies, and we could point you to those references. But we can't just say, yes, we agree with your argument, or no, we disagree. That is what would constitute the giving of opinions and debate. I see you put a lot of work into this, I didn't erase what you wrote. You could simply add, "Can anyone point to articles or sources that discuss my reasoning in the collapse section above. If you have other questions, post them here so they stay in one place, I will be watching. μηδείς (talk) 18:16, 19 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
