Hello

edit

Hello there! First, thank you for your contributions, and do not be discouraged by someone else reverting (changing) your edits/additions to a given article; more so when the topic is contested or controversial (such as Kashmir).

  • The best practice is to discuss your (suggested) changes on the talk-page of the article by putting forward your rational, and trying to build a consensus among other involved editors (in the given case, however, it appears that your edits should have been directed to Jammu and Kashmir rather than Kashmir region).
  • Having said that, one can not prevent other editors from changing his/her edits (I would urge you to take some time off editing and refer to WP:OWN and WP:5P).
  • Sockpuppet is a pseudo account(s) used by an editor to hide its true identity while contributing to his own cause; which gives a kind of (false) impression that another user is also asserting his/her view. It is a practice that should be avoided as the outcome could be unpleasant when caught by Admins (there are tools to capture Sockpuppets).

Hope this helps clear some of your doubts. -- Regards. ΜιĿːtalk 09:46, 9 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
