Brabham comments
editJames - thanks for the edits to Brabham. I've changed a small number of them back (usually because there was a specific reason for having it the previous way), but the vast majority were clear improvements. I would very much appreciate it if you had the time to go through the rest of the article at some time - I suspect it could seriously use another pair of eyes and yours appear to be quite sharp ones. Carbon-Carbon
editPerhaps that could use a little more explanation, then. Carbon brakes are carbon on carbon, in that the material is used as both brake pad and disc. However, the material used is a carbon-carbon composite: carbon fibres set in a carbon matrix (see Reinforced carbon-carbon for more technical stuff). It could actually be either reason I suppose, but they are normally referred to as 'carbon-carbon'. The topic is discussed in greater detail further down the article - I've put a '(see below)' at the first appearance of 'carbon-carbon' which links to the 'Technical innovation' section further down.
Thanks for all the further edits - I've only reverted one (sorry! :-)). The direct quote from Michael Scarlett about the MRD/merde connection shouldn't be corrected (ellipsis is acceptable), even if wrong grammatically, since that's what he wrote. Unless I've misquoted of course, which I'll check when I can get my hands on the article.
One question - I don't understand why in "He also became the first man to win a Formula One race in a car bearing his own name..." 'race' is now in italics. 'Race' as opposed to what?
Also - are you sure about removing non-breaking spaces for units? My recollection is that they are recommended.
Thanks again for spending so much time going through the article - it really helps to have someone else go through. I'm rather to close to spot some of the errors, or to act as a reader fresh to the topic. Cheers. --4u1e 07:11, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
