Zeteo is a zete-no

Howdy howdy, Zeteo has been down for about 12 hours. I think I crashed it by searching for "bol;gewebe" though it was moving slow before then. JackSchmidt (talk) 14:55, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Oh. I'll have a look. Jakob.scholbach (talk) 15:29, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
I have provided a quick fix by deleting huge amounts of spam entries (about 80%!) in the books table. It works again, but I'll have to come up with a somewhat more restrictive user handling in the near future. Also, I'm getting aware, many queries are far from optimal, so there is much room for improvement there, too. For example, your "bol;gewebe" query is studiply way slower (actually unbearably slow) than just "gewebe" or "bol". For the moment, please don't use "[author];[title]" queries, which right now just seems to make the SQL server process forever.
BTW, are you into SQL/PHP programming? As it is, I'm quite busy, and any helping hand or mind would be appreciated, particularly since I'm really an amateur programmer. Jakob.scholbach (talk) 21:28, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks it looks good! I'm also quite busy, but I am happy to help if I can (I use zeteo for all of my references, including for my own math research wiki). I am experienced with SQL/PHP programming and enjoy optimizing queries on occasion. Feel free to email me (the email user link should work). JackSchmidt (talk) 21:40, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
For the moment I have optimized the query looking for books given by title and author. Jakob.scholbach (talk) 10:14, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
