Conflict of interest concerns

edit

Hello Jagy2a. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Morio Matsui, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 10:32, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi DAJF, I'm a bit confused about this matter because I thought it had been resolved with Karl334 from Wikipedia. After discussion I was adviced to request a user name change which I did and it was accepted. The references used are verifiable (and third party) as far I can understand (published books available in Amazon or at the Toyohashi City Museum of Art & History, his official website, Corse-Matin (our major newspaper) and other official websites (Chanel, et...). I've read all your documentation could you please explain so I can clear this matter asap. Thanks! --Jagy2a (talk) 13:13, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

So long as you are closely connected with the subject of this article (Morio Matsui) and continue to edit it, there will always be possible conflict of interest concerns - regardless of what user name you currently edit under. That does not mean that you cannot edit this article, but it does mean that you should exercise great caution when editing - especially when adding glowing reviews or other details that could be considered overly promotional. Did you not read the guidelines I posted above above a couple of days back? If, as it appears, you did not, I really recommend that you do read through and absorb them, and ideally spend more time working time on other Wikipedia articles that you are not directly connected with. --DAJF (talk) 14:20, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Morio Matsui, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 10:42, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about that, I thought I could remove the warnings once I made changes! I'm trying to fix the problem, I'm new at it ! Should get the lists fixed this afternoon.--Jagy2a (talk) 10:56, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's OK. Please note that there is no particular rush or deadline to fix the article issues, so it's OK to take things slowly and carefully, especially if, as mentioned above, you are closely connected with the subject of the article. Thanks. --DAJF (talk) 11:46, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
I added references and re-arranged the Exhibitions list...... Please take a look at it! Thanks --Jagy2a (talk) 14:53, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
