Throughbred racing project

edit

A number of Wikipedians have come together and formed the WikiProject Throughbred racing to help to expand and better organise information in articles and categories related to the sport of thoroughbred racing. As a past contributor to horse racing articles, we invite you to consider becoming a participant in the project, and/or adding the page to your watchlist so that you become aware, and can join any future horse racing discussions, which may be of interest to you. Thoroughbred horse Infobox template

edit

Galopin has generously volunteered to help the Wikipedia:WikiProject Thoroughbred racing create an Infobox and has done a great job. Take a look at his talk page (User talk:Galopin#Template tests) for the two choices for the bottom box and those horses where I set up their box today using sample 1. Signature in articles

edit

Hi Jackane24. Please don't add your signature to encyclopedia articles, which you did at Yeats (horse), as per this guideline. Thanks for understanding. Picaroon9288 19:00, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help me: Signatures

edit

Why should I not be allowed to sign my username on articles I have written myself? i want to get into the horse racing industry, and if I write articles online, I wish to be creditted for it, especially as I will be informing newspaper editors of articles I have written on Wikipedia, and would like my name signed at the bottom to prove I wrote it.

The proof of what you wrote is in the page history, which has your username and which you can link to directly. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia collaboratively written. The articles are not owned by anyone and they will be heavily edited by others and redistributed elsewhere. Also, note that Wikipedia articles are not written in the style of most newspaper articles. —Centrxtalk • 22:29, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Amber booker, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 01:54, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Ballydoyle

edit

The article Ballydoyle has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

It is not clear that this article covers a notable topic

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Oo7565 (talk) 12:12, 11 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
