Speedy deletion of Chaindriven

edit

A tag has been placed on Chaindriven requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. BigDuncTalk 16:10, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi

As was said above, winning a local radio station content does not make a band notable. The article has therefore been deleted. Please see WP:MUSIC for what a band has to do to be notable. If you can find any band pages on Wikipedia that are as little known as this one, please feel free to point them out and they will also be deleted. DJ Clayworth (talk) 17:34, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

    • You've had about four different people explain to you that this band's having won one radio contest doesn't meet WP:BAND. Yet you continue to repost the article and make the same arguments. Don't repost it again or you may be blocked from editing. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you create an inappropriate page, such as Chaindriven, you will be blocked from editing. It's been deleted 4 times. Does this convince you it's inappropriate content? Ironholds 18:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Firstly, if you could sign your talk page posts by adding ~~~~ to the end that'd be great. The broadcast was based on the battle-of-the-bands competition, which has already been discounted as non-notable. Note that I only tagged the page, not deleted it, so there are obviously other users who share the same opinion. Ironholds 18:56, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I already explained how it failed notability for those points; please dont clutter up my talk page with repeated information. I reviewed and commented on the reasoning 2 of the 4 times it was deleted, so I know it by now. As i said, a radio competition is NOT a notable competition, national or not, and that was the local broadcast. The performance was WEBCAST, yes. That isn't the same as a notable broadcast.
