Welcome to Wikipedia. Your account has been blocked from editing because your username gives the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy, which is summarized here.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page (this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, JFrederique. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. UtherSRG (talk) 16:10, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for all this. After carefully reading, I am not doing any of the above. Should I make another request for unblock? JFrederique (talk) 16:22, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
You don't need to make a new unblock request, you have one open and pending. What is your association with Duke Concept? 331dot (talk) 16:28, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

331dot Cachet communications is my company and Duke Concept is a client who would like to have a wikipedia page to ensure proper company information. I have disclosed my employer and the client as per wikimedia guidelines. Any article that I have edited has been at random.

Note that is not what Wikipedia is for. This is an encyclopedia with articles, not "pages". This is an important distinction. Your client should use their company website to provide information about their company. The purpose of a Wikipedia article is to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. 331dot (talk) 20:09, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
How do I get unblocked? JFrederique (talk) 04:23, 27 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I've transferred your declaration to your user page as well. Do you understand what the purpose of Wikipedia is as I described it? We don't want to know what a company(or its representative) wants to say about itself, any article about your client must summarize what others say about it. That can't be staff interviews, press releases, brief mentions, announcements of routine business activities, or other primary sources. Please review the definition of a notable company. There are millions of companies on this planet, and the vast majority of them do not merit Wikipedia articles. 331dot (talk) 08:34, 27 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I understand the purpose of wikipedia as you described it. JFrederique (talk) 16:09, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
UtherSRG What do you think? 331dot (talk) 17:25, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Let's give them a chance to prove their sincerity, or show it to be false. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:16, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
