I got your note -- actually, you didn't leave it in quite the right place, but I found it anyway. I moved it to my talk page; you can find it there if you like, but you can also reply here.

I fixed the problem with Herbert Blumer. Take a look at what I just did to the article, and you should be able to figure out how it's done. There are two parts: first, you have to give the reference you want to re-use a name -- I named it "SpecialIssue_23-31". Then instead of inserting the whole reference again, the next time you want to use that source, you put this in instead: <ref name=SpecialIssue_23-31/>. That tells the page that this is a re-used reference, and it tells it which one to use. If you look at the citations list at the end of the page you'll see all three citations are merged into one.

Let me know if you have any questions -- and thanks for your contributions! Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 03:26, 7 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Thank you for your speedy reply and sorry about not leaving my note in the correct place - I am new to Wiki. Also, thanks for going ahead and setting an example for me as to how to correctly create multiple foot notes leading to one article! Much appreciated.--Izbski (talk) 03:37, 7 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi again, One more quick question about references. When there are multiple references to the same book, but *different* pages in the book, do I create a different citation for each page referenced, or is there some sort of trick where you can create one "ref name" and still acknowledge that the citations are to different pages?
