LaVey biographers agree that he lied about his ancestry, which is why we don't trust any biographies he approved.

Why would someone lie about their ancestry to a biographer? Where is the agreement by his biographers about this?

Do you trust the official twitter account of the Church of Satan which claims he was definitively Jewish?

LaVey lied to create a mystique about himself. He said his birth name was Anton Szandor LaVey but it was really Howard Stanton Levey. He fabricated other aspects of his life, including his ancestry. When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Anton LaVey, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work.
