Hello, I'm irolnire. Have a great day!

Living people edit

You are mistaken. To state the religion of a living person, the source has to quote the subject self-identifying with the religion. See WP:BLPCAT, which also applies to lists. Yworo (talk) 20:32, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think that's really splitting hairs. If a website that Dvorsky clearly endorses (including it on his Facebook page) identifies him as a Buddhist, I think it's taking things to an extreme to expect a quotation with the exact words "I am a Buddhist". Consider this similar situation: I doubt very seriously you'll ever find a quotation from Benedict XVI stating, "I am a Catholic". Would you like to argue the case that, therefore, he could not be identified as Catholic on Wikipedia? The examples could go on; does Billy Graham have to literally state, "I am a Christian"? Some things that are as apparent as the nose on your face do not require a direct quotation. Dvorsky endorses the website, and the website identifies him as Buddhist; ergo, Dvorsky is Buddhist. I would ask you to be a bit more reasonable and less rigidly literal about what is stated in BLPCAT. For that matter, BLPCAT does not literally state that a direct quotation is needed. Thanks. Irolnire (talk) 22:19, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Now I notice that you accepted a Google reference that simply states he is a Buddhist. It does not specifically quote him as saying "I am a Buddhist". What is the difference??? A website that Dvorsky links on his Facebook is not acceptable, but a Google source is OK? Makes no sense. I would appreciate your explanation. Irolnire (talk) 22:23, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's his Google+ account. He wrote there in his profile that he is a Buddhist. Google+ requires the use of real names. What you can't do is use implication (he writes a lot about Buddhism in his blog even though nowhere on it does he say he's a Buddhist, in either the short or long bios) or third-party sources that are not quoting the subject, such as in an interview. Don't believe me, go take it up with the folk at the BLP noticeboard, where that's the consensus interpretation. Yworo (talk) 19:50, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
And it's his Facebook page on which he links a website that identifies him as Buddhist. No difference. Do you honestly think he would provide the link if they had incorrect information about him? You're stretching your interpretation of BLPCAT, but it's a moot point now because the information has been restored to the list. But I'll ask you again: can you find a source in which Benedict XVI states that he is Catholic; not one in which he is simply identified as Catholic, but one in which he himself states that he is Catholic. Many people of course assume he is Catholic because he is the Pope, but I would like to see a source in which he states that he is Catholic. Please give me a link to the source. Thanks. By the way, I'd like to have a more specific link on BLP noticeboard where you're getting your information. Thanks. Irolnire (talk) 20:44, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Facebook doesn't verify identity; Google+ does. Facebook is not a reliable source unless the ownership of a Facebook page can be established. And our biographies of living people policy requires self-identification as a member of or a believer in a religion. That self-identification does not have to be a verbal or written "I am a Buddhist" or "I am a Catholic". Taking orders of any sort, becoming a monk, priest, bishop or Pope, is a form of self-identification. However, self-identification cannot be implied from a person's interests. Don't make stupid arguments. Just follow the policy. Yworo (talk) 21:45, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yworos talkpage edit

Please don't post there again, its considered bad form to grave dance and post such commentary on a users talkpage when they have retired and my posting a friendly comment there was not an excuse or request to discuss his editing with you there. Youreallycan (talk) 19:31, 15 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please don't ask me not to post on a talk page that I am perfectly entitled to post on. If you can express your feelings about Yworo, so can others. And don't close a discussion begun just minutes before simply because you don't agree with the opinions. Let an uninvolved party close it. Thank you. Irolnire (talk) 19:33, 15 December 2011 (UTC

Don't post on my talkpage I am not interested in talking you at all. Youreallycan (talk)

Creating page in your own user space edit

Abusive editor page is not in your userspace. You can create one in your own user space here. --SMS Talk 18:24, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done. Many thanks. Sorry for the confusion. Irolnire (talk) 18:30, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome. No problem! it happens with everyone in early days at Wikipedia. --SMS Talk 18:33, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
The downside is that it's also not a valid user sub-page, as its purpose is to attack. If you want to maintain such a page, do it on your own PC where no one else can see it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:35, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yworo (talk · contribs) keeps such a page. No one is rushing to delete his. The purpose is not to attack. Just to keep a list of diffs. If there are any attacks, I will remove them. Irolnire (talk) 18:37, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
But the incidents recorded do not involve you. Editing on behalf of another editor is called meat puppetry and can lead to you being blocked. Let the IP editor do his own dirty work. Yworo (talk) 18:40, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's hogwash. I am allowed to keep a list of diffs in my user space. Once again, a diff is not an attack. There is no exaggeration. Just a diff. And consider this your first and only warning not to edit war by removing the content of the page. Let an admin decide this. Irolnire (talk) 18:42, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's not hogwash. And the page is still not in your user space. You have to use a forward slash, not a backslash. Yworo (talk) 18:43, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have requested that the editor Irolnire be sent to the phantom zone. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:45, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
If you have an issue with a user, take it to WP:ANI or some other proper channel, and post your diff's there. [But beware the boomerang!] ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:48, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Do note that WP:MEAT states: "A new user who engages in the same behavior as another user in the same context, and who appears to be editing Wikipedia solely for that purpose, may be subject to the remedies applied to the user whose behavior they are joining." This mean you can be blocked as a sockpuppet of the IP editor if you continue, and I will submit a sockpuppet report if you do continue. You may not act on behalf of another editor, who clearly solicited you by email above. Yworo (talk) 18:50, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Stop it again with the paranoid false accusations and selective quoting of policies, Yworo. Let me preface my comments by stating that I don't speak for Irolnire and these are my opinions and mine alone. First of all, any user subpage that Irolnire has created doesn't appear to me to have anything to do with a content dispute, a consensus discussion, or voting, which is what meatpuppetry refers to and which Yworo has conveniently omitted. Secondly, even if meatpuppetry referred to any communication among editors about any topic (which it does not), you Yworo have no idea about what communication may or may not have occurred between Irolnire and any other editor except what is visible for anyone on Wikipedia to see. And finally, even if Irolnire has communicated with me (which he has not) or any other editor, you don't know whether they were discussing ways to improve an article, how to manage editing difficulties on Wikipedia, the weather in their part of the world, or any of millions of other topics of discussion. Here's the bottom line as unusual for Yworo: If he thinks (imagines, confabulates, hallucinates; I don't really know how he comes up with his thoughts) that someone may disagree with him, that more than one editor might have a problems with his abrasive behavior and attacks on IPs and new editors, or that someone looked at him the wrong way, he immediately goes on the offensive and tries to discredit any editor involved (in this case, Irolnire, and I assume me) by creating a strawman to attack (in this case a false and very uninformed accusation of meatpuppetry). And Yworo, perhaps the most important part of WP:MEAT that you have omitted is: "The term meatpuppet is derogatory and should be used with care". So my suggestion to Irolnire if you continue is to pursue this with one or more admins. 24.163.37.58 (talk) 00:38, 21 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Note to any interested party: When I agreed not to interact with Yworo, I reserved the right to defend myself against his many false accusations (as is any user's right). The comments above are in response to Yworo's falsely accusing me of instigating harassment and being involved in meatpuppetry. 24.163.37.58 (talk) 00:54, 21 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
