Jeffreys image

edit

Hello, I have again deleted the Jeffreys image. It appears to be copyrighted, and we will need more information before it is allowed to be used here. The copyright owner must release the image under an acceptable license to use on Wikipedia. For more information on obtaining permission, please see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. If you ARE the copyright holder, there is an address on that page of where you can send your permission and release. Again, let me know if you have any questions, preferably before uploading the image again. --Spike Wilbury talk 04:22, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I already had verbal permission to use that image. Ill have written permission from CHUCK JEFFREYS by the end of the day. Further deletions will be considered unprovoked harassment and dealt with accordingly.

Just make sure to send the written permission to the proper address listed on the page I linked above. Further deletions are actually routine and part of my job as an administrator. Please don't take it personally, and please drop the petty threats. --Spike Wilbury talk 15:41, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Continual deletions without telling someone how to go about it the right way can be considered harassment and can be pursued through other administrators. Not once did you ever identify yourself as an administrator.

Ok. Ive read [Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission] through twice and i still have no idea what im supposed to do. I cannot make heads or tails of what im supposed to do and not to do. It talks about emailing but there is no form or email address, just some Wiki code i cannot make out. Pictures or flowcharts might be helpful.

I did tell you how to go about it the right way, and my being an administrator has no bearing on the issue. It just gives me access to extra tools to actually delete the file instead of asking someone else to do it. As for how to do it, see Step number 2 under "When permission is confirmed". It gives the email address to send the permission to. I will put the correct tag on the image in the mean time so no one else deletes it. --Spike Wilbury talk 19:07, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

My drill instructor said the only true way to have someone understand what you want done is to do it Barney style, meaning make it so a Kindergartner could understand it. Are you referring to the two Wiki codes there? Is there some Wiki email account i need to send it to those addresses? I do appreciate your help.

Yes, the small text is the spelling out of the email address to send the permission to. Just substitute the "@" symbol where they've written "at". --Spike Wilbury talk 04:23, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
