I don't really care about how many edits i get. I get most of my edits on wikibooks actually. I just don't like people feeling unwelcomed so this is my mission for about ten minutes out of every day. It doesn't take that long so you could help out if you would like. It doesn't seem as if many people actually care about the "new members" that are joining.
