Speedy deletion of Talent6

edit

A tag has been placed on Talent6, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. KJS77 Join the Revolution 22:37, 15 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Use of the Hangon tag

edit

I saw the {{hangon}} template on this page, and I wanted to help. You seem to have misunderstood the use of the {{hangon}} template. To contest a proposed speedy deletion you add {{hangon}} to the page in question (the page that an editor has tagged for speedy deletion), just below the speedy delete tag (which usually has a name that starts with db (for "delete because")). You do not add it to your user talk page below the message informing you that a page has been tagged for speedy deletion, because then people looking at the page tagged for speedy deletion won't see it.

If a page has been deleted before you see the message, or in spite of your use of hangon, you can send a message to the deleting admin on his or her user talk page. If you click on a link to a deleted page you will see the relevant deletion log entries, which will show you the user ID of the admin who did the deletion. In order to survive speedy deletion, the article must assert why it is notable. In this instance, asserting the award was won would probably be enough to prevent speedy deletion. However, the external link to the website that you provided doesn't seem to say anything. If you can provide me with evidence that the award was won, I'll restore the article. However, merely asserting notability is not enough to prevent deletion at AfD. In order for an article survive an AfD, it must have its notability verified by reliable sources; at this time, you would need to do more work on the article for it to survive an AfD. Should I restore the article, I would probably give a few days before reviewing the article and possibly sending it to AfD if it doesn't seem to be notable (unless somebody else does first, of course). Another idea would be for you to work on the article in a subpage of your userspace, where it does not need to meet the aforementioned guidelines until moved to main article space. Let me know what you want to do and I'll assist you further. seresin ( ¡? )  00:04, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

A subpage is just a normal page title followed by a "/" and then the title of the subpage. (In this case it would look like "User:Igorreiant/Talent6". Click on this link to go to the subpage in which you can work on this article. As for the award, yes it does. But you will need to provide a verification of this fact from a reliable source in order for this to matter. seresin ( ¡? )  23:01, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
As a side note, you don't need to create a new heading every time you post a comment; discussions can be threaded by indentation. See this for further information. Now to your question. The beauty of subpage is that with a few exceptions, there are pretty much no rules about what you can do with it. You can spend as much time as you'd like working in the subpage.
I decided to look for more sources for the article. I found pages like [1],[2],[3],[4],[5],[6] these that seem to indicate the company is a scam. Furthermore, this thread, specifically this post, as well as this YouTube channel indicates that you have a severe conflict of interest. I strongly suggest you read the linked policy, and take it under serious advisement.
Given what I've uncovered, I think it is nearly impossible that your article would survive an AfD. However, given the award (even though, after some digging, it does not appear to be particularly prestigious), I would not personally speedy delete the article. If you wish to move the article to the mainspace, feel free to do so. But I will probably AfD it unless someone else does first, and it will almost certainly be deleted. seresin ( ¡? )  22:37, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
