User talk:Idont Havaname/Messages to old talk page

Latest comment: 18 years ago by Idont Havaname in topic Sports Wiki

Please note: Since Wikipedia usernames are case-sensitive, "Idont havaname" and "Idont Havaname" are two different usernames. This is the talk page for my old user name, Idont havaname (without the capital H). I don't read this page very often, and Wikipedia only notifies me of new messages if they are posted to User talk:Idont Havaname. So please post your messages at my new talk page instead of at this one. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 02:13, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Leyasu edit

Hello,

An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Leyasu. Please add evidence to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Leyasu/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Leyasu/Workshop.

2 Cents on the ArbCase edit

"I'm not sure why they renamed the case to only include Leyasu. At Wikipedia talk:Requests for arbitration, I suggested naming it "Leyasu vs. Danteferno" or "Danteferno vs. Leyasu", since some people have evidence against Danteferno and other people have evidence against Leyasu." [1]

While I am undoubtedly involved, unrelated and more recent circumstances really tarnish the notion that the Arbitration case is between two editors. At this point, "Leyasu vs. a string of other Wikipedians" would have been more accurate. While the Gothic Metal incident was the first (and most extensive), it was not the only case in which he was involved, and while many actions have been taken against him, history continues to repeat itself just the same:

  • Calling other user's edits POV so he could put his POV in an article
  • Refusing to provide sources that back up his claims, when asked
  • Personally attacking other editors
  • Revert warring with other editors
  • Claiming a consensus was reached that really wasn't
  • Ignoring warnings, RfC comments, and penalties from admins

"I've seen more evidence posted and now think it would be wiser to give both of them revert parole." [2]

I'm not really sure what evidence you found on my end that changed your opinion. Indeed, I broke site policies at Gothic Metal and The Black Dahlia Murder articles. The Black Dahlia Murder discussion was between myself and an anon who refused to provide sources for his edits, eventually leading to a revert war, page protection and then the intervention of a very generous admin (and eventually peace on both sides - finding a moderator isn't easy when they're needed the most! ). The Gothic Metal page was another case, and I can't think of any others that stood out. I have, however, continued to change in the way I do business, and follow policies a lot closer than the first few months I had my monniker, regretting many of my own missdoings - whether it was abusing the revert limit, or being too short in tone - that took place.

Perhaps there is a more recent case I'm not aware of that would warrant revert parole. Or, maybe the two cases alone would suffice. Either way, I respect your view.--Danteferno 23:17, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sports Wiki edit

I noticed you were active on many sports pages. My friends and are I starting a sports wiki that you may be interested in. It uses Wikipedia's software but we made a lot of technological improvements to allow for more news and opinion articles. The site is ArmchairGM. We're not "officially" launching until March 6th, but you can feel free to poke around and add content. Let me know if you have any questions.--Awrigh01 16:00, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Removed link to ArmchairGM. I couldn't edit this page since it was listed on the spam blacklist. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 02:13, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Missing Wikipedians edit

Thanks for letting me know. The last time I posted someone up at MW was a long time ago, I see they must have updated the rules there. I went and added him to EA's alert page. It's just sad he left because of OrphanBot. --LBMixPro<Speak|on|it!> 05:05, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow. edit

I have no idea how you have so much information on the Deadlines. Sorry, i should have introduced myself first. Hi, this is Shaun (formerly of the Deadlines) and I think you may know more about the band than I do (or that I remember.) I happened upon this wikipedia post after Googling my last name for some family history stuff, by the way the internet is officially completely ridiculous, and was amazed by what you had posted. It was pretty much right on, I changed one thing and think there are a few more minor vagaries that I might go clear up, but, damn I have no idea how you found all of that. I was positive it was either a member of the band or someone from tooth & nail that did this, although now that I think about it I guess it could be. So now I'm wondering, are you from Portland? Do I know you? Anyway, good work, I'm going to go edit it a little for accuracy and favorable spin (kidding.)

Thanks for doing this, Shaun Sundholm (Coffin) whatever.

P.S. I'm thinking you had to be in the band to know all of this. Who the heck are you?

P.P.S. I hope you get this I couldn't find an email to contact you through.

My Test? edit

Somebody had superimposed a picture of a penis onto every image on the Noah's Ark page. I simply removed it for the sake of decency!

the deadlines edit

I think I left you a message last night but I know nothing about this wikipedia and am not sure it went through as i can't find it tonight. Can you email me at ssundholm@gmail.com and let me know how you made this amazing page? This is a more complete history of the Deadlines than I've ever bothered to write. Nice work and I'm starting to think you were in the band at one time.

Thanks Shaun (not Coffin) Sundholm
