Using elevation to define lakes as "alpine"
editIt seems like the literature refers to many lakes as "alpine" well below 2700 m. For example, alpine lakes in the Alps may be as low as 500 m above sea level. A better definition probably refers to mountain geography, water sources, etc. Kw9793 (talk) 23:13, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
UV avoidance by algae at high altitude
editAnyone else come across this in their readings? Apparently deep primary production is a feature of clear alpine lakes, seems like it could be a unique thing to add. Kw9793 (talk) 19:24, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
