Speedy deletion nomination of GCalcD

A tag has been placed on GCalcD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. First, see other stuff exists, just because those links are there presently does not necessarily mean they are appropriate. Secondly, those other site owners are not linking their site on numerous other articles, for example [this]. Kindly stop. - MrOllie (talk) 18:54, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

1. As you can see from the above tables, the gCalcD is the most notable link relating to online graphing calculators. Without it, the (first) table is almost completely filled with all "no's" which does not look good. The section of the page clearly needs improvement. The most relevant improvement can be achieved by listing the gCalcD (second table), as you can search the internet and find out that the gCalcD is a unique online graphing calculator with functionality that other online graphing calculators lack.

2. Being the most versatile graphing calculator on the web, the gCalcD can be listed in other relevant pages. For example, gCalcD is the only "equation grapher" on the web, that can truly graph any well-defined equation, so it can safely be listed in the article about Equation and in other relevant articles that makes the page more useful for the users.

So, actually, deletion of the links to gCalcD is not, by any means, justifiable. The links to gCalcD are not spasm and do not use promotional language. The deletion of gCalcD not only impairs the table visually, but also makes the page less useful to the wiki viewers and can be regarded as an act of vandalism if deletion continues. Generally speaking, the page about online graphing calculators needs a lot of improvement.

So, it would be most appropriate if the gCalcD is included in the relevant sections.

I shall include all relevant links to gCalcD and make other improvements to the relevant pages after 36 hours. There has been no logically acceptable argument for deletion of links to the gCalcD in pages related to mathematics which is known to be the only science which is 100% logical.

Any objections should be cited within the above time period (if more time needed, please feel free to extend it, just notify me). Please don't overuse shortcuts to policy and guidelines. Be specific: please cite any policy you refer to support your action and explain in detail how it relates to deletion of the links to gCalcD and why the policy does not apply to the existing links.

The visitors, who want to find out about graphing calculators, already know what graphs are. They want to know what type of graphs a graphing calculator can handle, and in what type of coordinate system. That's why the table heading are there. So the description

is much more precise and as such should not have been replaced.

The title for "General Purpose Calculators" should be changed to "Basic/Scientific calculators". Among the calculators listed, only the Google's calculator can truly handle roots. For example, the 3rd root of -8 is equal to -2. But when you type in (-8)^(1/3) no other calculator in the list gives the correct answer. IGraph (talk) 13:35, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

The link to gCalcD is restored, as being the most notable online graphing calculator, having innovative features, and the only fully implemented 2D graphing calculator on the web. From IGraph: Online Function Grapher is a version of the gCalcD graphing calculator specifically programmed for graphing functions. It's the most accurate function grapher on the web. Because viewers interested in graphs are naturally interested in software that produce them the link has been added. It is not a spam link, as you can check the website.

The links to the website http://www.calculator-grapher.com should not have been deleted.
