I recently became aware that same-sex marriage is no longer considered to be a human right, something that apparently it once was (per Amnesty International) but it never was by United Nations (though it was mistakenly viewed as being a human right). I like the way you wrote it to accommodate the reality of the situation. I think it recognises it fairly well. It is considered to be a right per LGBT lobbyists but in world terms it is not considered to be a right. This may be related to the fact that most of the world still considered homosexuality a crime, and some parts of the world still have the death penalty for being gay. A human right, globally, is something that is considered to be important to the world, but many parts of the world don't want it at all. There's a lot written about this, and fundamentally there's no reason why you need to be able to be married. Your life doesn't depend on being able to be married, though it may depend on being able to have homosexual sex. Anyway, thanks for fixing this up. I like the way you wrote it. Re your removal of the 1996 census def. For me actually that definition is more or less the same as the GJMC area, but for relatively minor boundary changes. At the AfD though one person argued otherwise. Regards, Batternut (talk) 15:56, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
ArbCom 2017 election voter message
Hello, Htonl. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
