AfD nomination of Milton Jimenez

edit

An editor has nominated Milton Jimenez, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Milton Jimenez and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 03:44, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Deletion records

edit

Sure: Special:Log/delete. But you'll notice that the log is pretty overwhelming to wade through, because an extremely high proportion of it is justifiably deleted junk. A potentially better way to look, if you know the admin whose deletions you want to review, is to go to Special:Log and type in that admin's name under "user". By the way, I notice you are new around here: please don't be discouraged by these types of people. Most of us, you'll find, favor a wide scope of coverage, but sometimes the deletionists can be louder than the rest of us. Trying to get an article on the Honduran FM deleted is pretty remarkable by any standard, though. Everyking (talk) 06:05, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately I don't think that is possible. Tagging a page is a normal page edit and wouldn't register in a log; it would only be in the page history, which is inaccessible if the article is deleted. Everyking (talk) 06:07, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

You're right. Speedy deletion criteria are often interpreted very broadly to justify deleting things that don't really meet the criteria by a normal definition, and if the author is new or unknown (your username is redlinked—it'd be better to create some kind of userpage so people won't have an automatic "newbie" bias against you), that can also factor in. When creating a new article, it's best to include a significant amount of content (several sentences and at least one reference) to avoid this kind of thing. FYI

edit

The vast majority of the articles that I have either tagged or voted on for deletion have ultimately been deleted. To ensure that information on Wikipedia is accurate, verifiable and notable, information that isn't has to be removed. And, to ensure that information is not wrongfully deleted, there are various processes that involve input from multiple people. I, like anyone else who participates on Wikipedia, am doing what anyone else can do: add information, change information or encourage information to be removed; and whatever it is that I decide should be changed, is in my opinion, for the best of the site. Am I capable of error? Certainly; just like everyone else. I have never claimed to be perfect nor do I ever plan to. Mh29255 (talk) 06:59, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
