Those magic changes edit

Hi. I noticed that you created the page Those magic changes while patrolling new pages at Special:NewPages. Do you notice how the capitalized title, Those Magic Changes, is actually a redirect to the musical's page? This is because a user felt that the song does not meet the the notability guideline on music, or WP:MUSIC. Do you think it's possible that the article you just created may also fail WP:MUSIC? Hello, Thank you for your input. What are your suggestions? Honghu (talk) 05:30, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

It certainly is a nice stub, and I would rather not bring it up at Articles for deletion, which is the normal place that articles failing notability guidlines would be discussed. You are obviously much more of an expert on the subject than I am. In order for an article about a certain song to be created, the song itself must be notable, not just the album the song is featured in. Do you have any reliable sources that demonstrate that the song itself is notable? If so, please add them, and then the article would be without a doubt appropriate for Wikipedia. If not, I think it would be best to simply leave it as-is, even though that's technically the correct thing to do. It's such a small article, that it can probably stay even if it is not strictly notable. Be warned, however, that it may be deleted by someone else in the future if the problem is not solved now. Assuming that I edited the article to meet WP:MUSIC, how would one go about changing the linking the capitalized redirect to the uncapitalized article? It seems that the capitalized version has the better "name". However, I do not deem it appropriate to copy this page and paste it onto Those Magic Changes, and removing the link, as you have stated that this does not strictly meet WP:MUSIC. Thank You, Honghu (talk) 15:04, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Normally, you would move the page Those magic changes to the page Those Magic Changes using Special:MovePage. However, you cannot do so currently because Those Magic Changes already exists. And yes, it is best to not (actually, against Wikipedia's copyright policy) copy the page text directly. The move must, instead, be done by an administrator. If you want, I can do it for you. That would be great if you could move it to Those Magic Changes. I have expanded it to include how Sha Na Na is well known for their tracks in Grease, along with some background information regarding the actual song, according to the film. Thanks, Honghu (talk) 22:44, 14 June 2009 (UTC) P.S. I would also be happy to link relevant articles to Those Magic Changes.Reply

I will make the move as soon as possible. Thank you for expanding the article; it should be good enough now to meet WP:MUSIC's criteria. Regards, The Earwig (Talk | Editor review) 00:57, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Piano Music edit

I have moved the article about the suite Piano Music from Piano Music (which now redirects to piano) to Piano Music (suite). I will not edit your user page, but you may want to update the link there. Kind regards Danmuz (talk) 17:18, 22 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Those Magic Changes edit

The article Those Magic Changes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability whatsoever.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
